The Poetic Researcher

I want to write a blog,

I said.

“About what?” You asked,

And at the time, I did not know.

But I know what I do not want to write.

Because that article I read last night -

The one I had to read three times to understand -

Is NOT how I want to share my research.

I want to make a difference,

I want to make the world a better place.

I want to write something that people will read,

And maybe even enjoy.

I want a challenge -

For myself and others.

I want a fresh breath,

Something freeing and new.

So, I picked up my favorite book.

Pillow Thoughts

And as I read the beautiful poetry and prose,

I realized, “Thats it!”

What if I wrote what I like to read?

What if I presented my research process and projects as poetic verse,

For others to read,

To enjoy.

So, I picked up my pen,

And I started to write.

And now that I have started,

I may never stop.

I hope that you enjoy my writing,

As much as I enjoyed writing it.

I hope that you learn something new,

And that my work challenges you.

To live a full life.

To be a better person.

To do something you enjoy.

And to think about the world around you.
